Village Packages: A Ramadan Special

One of i-Sentra’s most meaningful annual events is the Bakti Sosial Ramadhan “Bingkisan
Desa”, a social outreach held every 1st of April. This year, it reached more than 2,350
different individuals, tripling due to the contribution to their households across several
villages in Kabupaten Lamongan. These locations span around the vast areas of Desa
Kemantren, Desa Sidokelar, Desa Bluri (with a special focus on orphans), and Desa
Dagan in the Paciran region.

The event served as both a platform for silaturahmi (strengthening social bonds) and
Jakamitra’s socialization efforts in the area, while also directly helping those in need.
Donations were distributed to orphans in Desa Bluri, aimed at easing their financial burden
during the holy month. A main focus on this event was giving out bingkisan (Ramadan
packages) consisting of household essentials towards 1,600 households in Kemantren
and 750 households in Sidokelar. The large total of 2350 ‘goodie bags’ were shared
towards these locals, each containing 5kg of dry rice, 1kg of sugar, and 1 L of cooking oil.
In a season like Ramadan, where costs of ingredients often rise, this small initiative helps
to provide relief to many households.

i-Sentra’s collaboration with village heads, the local village government, and even the
Bupati of Lamongan (Regent of Lamongan region, who was present to show his support)
made this event possible. The involvement of local and regional authorities underscored
the significance of the program.

Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 2:
Zero Hunger, this annual effort reflects i-Sentra’s commitment to community welfare. A
small gesture in the grand celebration of Ramadan, yet a significant one for those who
received it.
