Football has long-established itself as one of the most popular sports in Indonesia, but
more than that, football holds a special place as it becomes a cultural phenomenon which
unites the vast archipelago of Indonesia under one identity. This is more evident than in
Lamongan, where the Persatuan Sepak Bola Lamongan (Persela) has become a powerful
symbol of local pride.
As a bold move in promoting community wellbeing, i-Sentra has expanded its efforts onto
the field of football. Hence, this decision was made concrete on November 23, 2021 where
i-Sentra officially sponsored the Persela Lamongan Football Club. Through this initiative,
i-Sentra promotes the development of local sports in Lamongan, especially football
through nurturing young talents through funding for modern training facilities and nutrition
programs.
At a larger scale, this initiative also keeps local citizens engaged in a positive,
team-based sport which fosters the Lamongan’s community spirit. As a whole, Jakamitra
has championed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 which is Good Health and
Wellbeing, proving that good health isn’t only about medicine, it’s also about promoting
active lifestyles, and communal bond. Every goal scored echoes across the field,
reminding everyone that achieving a sustainable community, at its core, requires a team
effort.
